Approved for Removal
Every time a book is pulled from a shelf, struck from a reading list or stopped at a border, a decision is made. A committee meets. A ministry signs. A board votes. And however quietly it happens, it leaves a trace.
Someone, somewhere wrote it down.
Approved for Removal is gathering those records into one public archive: what was challenged, restricted, removed or banned, where, by whom and on what grounds, in every country and every language.
Not rumour, and not reputation. The paper trail itself, traced to its source, so that anyone can read what was decided and judge it for themselves.
The archive is being built now, and will open first to a small group of readers, librarians and researchers.
